One Finger Death Punch
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

If you played One Finger Death Punch, this game is very similar to it, but it does have an extra beat em up mode with multiple characters and specials.

Pros

  1. No character fights the same, they all have different combos and ways to attack. Kung Fu Fury will rush the opponent to land a hit, Triceracop will go backwards every time he shoots an opponent, Hackerman doesn't move and you have to mash the key so he can fill a bar and he can finally attack, Barbarianna has an special move that activates every four hits that kills everything on the side of the screen.
  2. It has the music from the movie. The electronic tunes are there, 1 to 1 and they greatly enhance the limited action, especially the Kung Fury vs Arcade theme.
  3. It's incredibly faithful to the movie. From the character designs and voices to the over-the-top, anachronistic humor, the game perfectly captures the spirit and aesthetic of "Kung Fury." Fans of the film will appreciate the numerous references and inside jokes.
  4. No enemy fights the same nor has the same strategy to defeat. The grunts die in one hit, the blondies in two, the nurses have to …

  4. No enemy fights the same nor has the same strategy to defeat. The grunts die in one hit, the blondies in two, the nurses have to be hit 3 times alternatively, the ninjas have to be hit 3 times alternatively and the arcades 4 times.

Cons

  1. The arcade mode is absurdly brutal, one mistake can turn a winning run into a death spiral you cannot recover from. The final level is the worst offender of this because in theory you have to survive 7 waves, then the game throws two more at you when you are probably tired and fed up.
  2. The beat 'em up mode, while a nice addition, feels somewhat underdeveloped. The levels are repetitive, and the special moves, while unique, don't offer enough strategic depth to keep the combat engaging for long periods.
  3. Despite the different characters, the core gameplay loop can become repetitive. The "one-button" style, while fun in short bursts, doesn't offer a great deal of variety beyond learning each character's specific attack patterns.

Conclusion

It's a game I would recommend if it goes on sale, it is brainless fun and the soundtrack is still very good.
