Monster Train 2 (2025)

Monster Train 2 doesn't do anything groundbreaking in my opinion, but still has a rock solid combination of thinky gameplay, replayability, and customizable difficulty that kept me coming back over and over until I got all the steam achievements (and I'm still planning on playing more in the future casually plus checking out new updates as they release them).

I'd highly recommend to anymore who enjoys the "Slay the Spire" genre of games (roguelike deckbuilding).

Monstruos en trenes 2 - ahora con mas monstruos en los trenes. Sigue siendo el mismo juego, ahora con el doble de casas y campeones, pero sin ninguna idea loca que te cambie la vida. Pero es mi mierda, y claro, un gritón de horas. Supongo que en algún punto sacarán el DLC loco que subirá la ascensión a 318 niveles y tendré que pasármelo porque uno no puede evitar ser quien es. Espero que Slay the Spire 2 arriesgue mas eso si.

Played on PC on Xbox Game Pass. Loved this game. Sort of having a rogue-lite moment right now and this game came at the perfect time. There is some kind of unique satisfaction in making a series of decisions that leads to your victory. The variety of clans is fantastic.

Played until I beat titans for the first time but the game is far from over. I'm letting by Game Pass sub lapse but will definitely buy this on Steam and play my way through more of the clans in the future.

It would not be fair to review it and give it a score since I only put like 5 minutes in!

What is up with this game? I get it has a 2 in the title but I have never played anything with such a terrible on-boarding!

I started it up and was instantly in a "battle" and had no idea what anything did, what anything meant, etc. and the game had no interest in telling me. It just had like TWO(!) lines that were like "do this and do that"! WHY?! What does any of this mean?!

As someone who had not played a deckbuilder since Yu-Gi-Oh for Nintendo DS I would have thought this would have taught me whatever the fuck it is without dumping me out! What about people who have never played these types of games?!

Since it is on GamePass it is not hard to assume people might be trying it out even if they have not played the first!

I'm a huge fan of roguelike deckbuilders anyway, so this was going to be a home run for me if it was anything close to the original Monster Train.

It's so much better.

This is one of the best deckbuilders I've played. The addition of the clans and the main/secondary choices you get for your decks mean there is a staggering amount of choice you have in how you build your deck and approach combat and all of them, at least from what I've played, are viable.

Incredible design with hundreds of choices at your fingertips. The perfect podcast or YouTube game as well, the time just melts away. Right up there with Balatro and Slay the Spire for me.

Super impressed and it's a steal on Game Pass right now.
