The wild boys of the SSC face hell again in this sequel to the hit third-person teamwork-based shooter. Army of Two: The 40th Day reunites Salem and Rios as they're forced to survive in a city under siege. The sequel includes more co-op moves for players to use at any time, which will allow for completely different strategies and options in battle, adding up to a bigger, more organic and immersive co-op experience. The story of The 40th Day places Salem and Rios in the middle of Shanghai, China, as a disaster of epic proportions strikes the city. While they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, they are the right men to react to the chaos. As they fight their way through ruined districts of the city, they discover more and more catastrophes are being orchestrated to devastate Shanghai piece by piece. Вроде бы неплохой шутер-с-укрытиями, развитие идей первой части, сносная стрельба, приятная кастомизация пушек, интересная тактическая схема взаимодействия с напарником. Вот только хорошей игры и приятного игрового процесса как не было, так и нет. Всё меняется при игре с живым напарником, само собой, но от фундаментальных проблем не спасает. Одному же играть в это совсем печально. Единственное, что весьма неожиданно порадовало …

Вот только хорошей игры и приятного игрового процесса как не было, так и нет. Всё меняется при игре с живым напарником, само собой, но от фундаментальных проблем не спасает. Одному же играть в это совсем печально. Единственное, что весьма неожиданно порадовало - музыка, которая сперва ничем не отличается от типичного голивудского оркестрового дженерика, но ближе к концовке прям внушает уважение. Но понятно, что музыкой игру не спасти.

Underrated. The shooting feels very nice, enemies die quickly, no bullet-spongy annoyance like in Gears. Enemies react to being shot in a very amusing way, with some pre-made + physics based animations. This greatly enhances the fun and the action, plus this game has some of the best gunporn out there, tons of customization which is available on the fly. …

Underrated. The shooting feels very nice, enemies die quickly, no bullet-spongy annoyance like in Gears. Enemies react to being shot in a very amusing way, with some pre-made + physics based animations. This greatly enhances the fun and the action, plus this game has some of the best gunporn out there, tons of customization which is available on the fly. You can put a sniper scope, an under-barrel shield and a soda-can silencer on your shiny new AR, totally awesome.

All in all a good old 7th gen coop third person shooter. Did we have too many of them back in the day? Hell yeah! Is this one actually good? Yup, pretty good. Don’t expect a good story or anything like that, it’s all about the action.
