Non ho parole per descrivere l'orrore di provare questo gioco: se si fosse chiamato diversamente, molto probabilmente non ci avrei mai giocato. Purtroppo, chiamandosi Devil May Cry avevo delle aspettative, che sono state prontamente distrutte nei primi 10 minuti di gioco. Non si merita altre parole da parte mia. Voto: 3/10

Four games into the series and we get a reboot. What a disaster fire to some, but honestly it's my favorite one so far. Dante and Vergil in this game have so much more personality than the previous ones. The story although not that amazing is entertaining and crazy enough to keep you going. The combos and weapons were insane and I felt myself enjoying the combat way more than in the previous games. The one thing I did not expect while playing this game was for it to be so funny, whoever wrote the dialogue did a great job. I know it is not a popular opinion but I loved this game quite a lot, with some criticisms on monster repetition aside I had a blast. Shame we will never see a sequel to this weird installment in the franchise.

If you're a fan of the original Devil May Cry series, odds are, you're going to love this game and it's extra content. This Devil May Cry tells a rebooted story of Dante, a nephilim (half angel, half demon) who is trying to take back the Earth, which is being controlled by the Demon King Mundus. As it's the Definitive Edition, you also get the DLC called "Vergil's Downfall," which follows Dante's brother Vergil (also a Nephilim and main character in the story) and tells of events that occured after the main story in the game. Along the way, you'll fight some difficult enemies, some creepy bosses, and do it all to kick-ass metal soundtrack that will make your adrenaline pump.The story line for this fresh, new DMC is awesome, and again, if you enjoyed playing the original, you'll love this story line, complete with that familiar Capcom and Devil May Cry sense of sarcastic humor.
Also keeping with the original Devil May Cry style, you will hack, slash, and chain combos together to try and put the best possible score together through 20 different levels of fast-paced action. Your score at the end of each level is give a letter grade, based on attack combos, the time of completion, the items/secrets found in that level, the number of items used, and the number of times died. With that said, the replay value is awesome -- you can find a number of reasons to go back and play levels over and over again, if anything just to try and beat your own score.
In addition to the extra XP you'll get from replaying missions -- which, by the way, can be used to upgrade the number of weapons you'll find throughout the game -- you'll also want to try and rack up Red Souls, which can be used to purchase items. I tried to use as few as items as possible (since the more items you use on a level, the more your final score decreases) but there are some parts of the game that were very difficult for me to get through without using a few health items here and there.
Overall -- If you like fast-paced, button mashing, combo chaining, hack and slash type games (similar to God of War), or if you're a fan of the original series, I definitely recommend it.
