Famicom Mukashi Banashi: Shin Onigashima - Zengohen (Famicom Fairytales: New Island of Ogres - Part 1+2) is a game that ports both Part 1 (Zenpen) and Part 2 (Kouhen) games from the original Famicom Disk System releases to be played as a complete game. This version was first released on the Wii Virtual Console, but the first time that both parts were ported together was in the Famicom Mini Series for the Game Boy Advance.

Only "played" in the sense that I followed a guided walkthrough because I didn't understand Japanese. Really gorgeous game with a lot of fun screens (them wacky tengu eyes, dragon skeletons) that seemed like it had some vicious adventure game mechanics. I could see a lot of trial and error out of this one! I would still love to see some translation (perhaps not directly out of the FDS version since that text layout would be heck to work out) in the future. Shin Onigashima remake after Famicom Detective Club, maybe?
