Dive into the captivating high-speed world of Phantom Spark. Engage in precision time-trial racing to best the champions in the single-player campaign, challenge your friends in split-screen local multiplayer, or make your mark on the global online leaderboards.
AG racer in the vein of Wipeout/F-Zero, but with only time trials that are ~40s each
Zen gameplay, very conducive to flow state
The environments (abstract ruins) and soundtrack (Liquid D&B) are initially very cool but get repetitive
Physics don't allow for any reactive gameplay. With the extremely long acceleration curve and severe penalty for tapping the gas - you only get one chance at braking for a tight corner. This gets too finicky when coupled with the drifting mechanic on some tracks.
Some annoying UX quirks: inconsistent restart button between runs, unmashable (short) dialogs, game selects ghosts to compete with that are too similar to your own record.
I got #15 on the leaderboard on one of the tracks 🥳
