Easy relaxing puzzles

Compared to later titles is a bit limited since you can't rotate camera around, all the puzzles are made to be solved from the front, anyway it's still entertaining

I was struggling to find interest in anything on the Switch, as lately I have been feeling very nostalgic about "the good ol' days" of the 3DS, my favorite console of all time.

Nintendolife put out a great list of all the 3DS titles that will be lost to time (that is, games that never received physical releases) once the eShop closes next year, and I went through the list and pick out 10 that sounded interesting, and ultimately landed on 6 titles to grab and play through. All of them together were under $50, and I can't wait to get back into this thing. In fact, I've already started, but I'm writing this status update as if I had not :)

I really miss the crap out of this awesome little handheld - at my peak usage I was hitting almost 80 hours a MONTH on this thing, as this was in the ~8 years I was exclusively playing handheld consoles, and the Switch hasn't even gotten close to recapturing the "Nintendo charm" that the 3DS provided.

So, the titles!

Pushmo (Nintendo)

Weapon Shop de Omasse (Level-5)

Fluidity: Spin Cycle (Curve Digital)

Ketzal's Corridors (Keys Factory)

The Legend of Kusakari (Librage)

Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale (Level-5)

It's worth mentioning that Level-5 had some major representation on Nintendolife's list (and they make no secret of it), and I will very highly likely go back and grab some more of the Level-5 titles, because I simply adore the games they create (and I MISS DARK CLOUD, come on where's the third game you guys!?).

So far, I have played through many levels in Pushmo and Ketzal's Corridors, as they are both casual puzzle games, and I'm loving them both. As a (somewhat former) collector of physical games I really skipped past a lot of 3DS-only titles, but now that I'm basically done collecting for the 3DS it'll be nice to check some of these out before they're lost to time.

This game is making me feel smart, therefore it deserves all my love so it keeps lying to me.

Wow does this game receive a lot more praise than it deserves. I just finished all of the main puzzles and I don't think it's a great experience. There are hundreds of puzzles in the game but such an insanely small percentage of them actual qualify as thought provoking. Most are either painfully simple or, through the use of ladders, random and frustrating.

I kept playing and playing waiting for the game to get good and it never succeeded. Possibly the best part of the game are the cool "mural" puzzles that feature old Nintendo sprites, but they are only cool to look at. They are often the worst of the puzzles.

The game has a lot of polish but I just can't recommend it and I don't plan on playing the sequel.
