Control is a third-person action-adventure game set in the Federal Bureau of Control, a secretive U.S. government agency that studies paranormal phenomena. Players control Jesse Faden, who arrives at the Bureau's headquarters, the Oldest House, to find it invaded by a hostile force called the Hiss. Gameplay combines supernatural abilities with a shape-shifting firearm, and the environment is reactive and destructible.

An entertaining and confusing game

Control's very unique story, environments, battle system and atmosphere build an incredible game. This is a game that I can easily recommend to any action game fan. Even if you don't pay attention to it's ominous weird story and characters, you'll still get the most out of its gameplay and presentation. AND MY GOD, THE ART DIRECTION HERE IS JAW …

Control's very unique story, environments, battle system and atmosphere build an incredible game. This is a game that I can easily recommend to any action game fan. Even if you don't pay attention to it's ominous weird story and characters, you'll still get the most out of its gameplay and presentation. AND MY GOD, THE ART DIRECTION HERE IS JAW DROPPING! Control's only mistakes are found in its unforgiving checkpoints, poor performance issues, lack of variety towards the ending and the shallow story conclusion. Nothing game breaking, but I felt like its faults kept it from being epic or even more memorable than it is

A Slow Burn with Cigarette Man

Control doesn’t make a great first impression. The narrative starts off deliberately confusing and drops you in with almost no set up. The combat initially feels stiff, difficult, and overly simplistic. The layout of the Oldest House is confusing and hard to navigate. I ended up loving the game by the end. They manage to tell a cool story in a cool way and they justify starting you off in the dark. The combat quickly adds important abilities to your toolkit that allow you to get around easily and deal with enemies in creative and satisfying ways. It’s fantastic by the end, feeling a playable version of the battles I dreamed about while reading X-Men comics as a kid. The highest praise I can offer is that the game felt short, despite it being a meaty 12-hour campaign and longer than most games I played this year, and I didn’t want it to end. I hope it did well for Remedy because I’d really like to see more games in the setting.

okay unfortunately this may not be the best game of all time since the combat gets a little boring but I also never want to stop playing this game

This is an amazing video essay about Control, Kitty Horrorshow's Anatomy and the essence of the haunted houses.

Started very weird and cool. Then it quickly started to show it's standard shooter structure. Still cool, though.

I did it!

I got the Platinum Trophy on Control.

Honestly, I'm not a completionist. I don't usually try to 100% my games. But Control was SO GOOD that I just wanted to keep playing after the credits rolled. I really loved every second of it (except for the seconds spend waiting on the excruciatingly long loading screens).

The wait for the DLCs will be long.

Also, everytime I replay something I've played before in this game; I'm FAR better than I was the first time. I'm ACTUALLY getting better. So maybe I'm going to playthrough this game; YET AGAIN when I'm done. Lol

So the week before Gears 5 comes out, I've decided I'm going to 100% Control. Oh well, I'm playing it so slowly, I guess I can do both. Gears 5 better be damn good, otherwise I'm going to just be thinking about Control the entire time and eventually never finish Gears 5.

It's amazing how fast you can get through this game with higher than 30 fps and knowledge of what to do next. I'm almost back where I was after 8 hours in about 3-4 hours. Really love the improved, well everything. Well worth the money. Going to return my rental copy ASAP.

So Control has some performances issues on PS4(Pro). Like when there are more than 7 enemies on screen there is some massive slowdown when you start using your telekinesis. So.... What am I to do.... I love this game so far and it is most definitely my GOTY. But I'm finding it harder and harder to play it on PS4 …

This game has one of the more fun combat systems this side of the latest God of War. Is not anything original, but so well done.

Control: come for the weird plot about a multi-dimensional burocratic building, stay for the shootings.

OMG! This game is mind blowing! I love it. I haven't played for more than a handful of hours and I just unlocked the ability to do upgrades which supposedly makes the game better. But WOW, this game is excellent. Playing on PS4 Pro. Which is supposedly one of the worst performing versions. I would LOVE to see this running on my PC. But I'm just renting the PS4 version. I would love just to stop and buy the PC version. But can't really afford that right now, nor would it be smart to do so. So.... I guess I'm finishing this on PS4 waiting for a good sale and then buy it on the PC and play it again. Apparently there will be DLC , so at least I can play that on the PC. Unless the game tanks somehow. It is DEFINITELY my GOTY this year.
