Gotta say, as much as I'm liking the feeling of movement, combat and exploration, the bosses have been a bit of a letdown. So far I've fought the first tutorial boss (Moss Mother), the Bell Beast, Lace in the deep roads (she obviously returns later), Fourth Chorus and Savage Beastfly. They all felt somewhat limited in their attacks patterns; few of them, very distinct and with very obvious and repetitive counters.

Fouth Chorus was maybe the more interesting one, since it played with the environment, but even still, it only had 3 attacks (swipe with the hand, slam with the hand, falling rocks)

The Beasfly was particularly crappy. Just two lame attacks (charge and slam). The main difficulty was the trashmobs it would summon. It was cool that its attacks would kill the adds, but it was disappointing that it didn't damage the boss too.

Granted, this is all early game, so it might get better

I do like that the random enemies are more complex than the original. A lot of them do have attack patterns that trip you up and force you to strategise more. Although they are a bit on the tanky side. Even the most basic throwaway enemy takes like 3 hits and some of the more elite ones seem to take forever.

I love how goofy she looks when floating in the air. I don't know how, but her expressionless face has this serious look that is so funny juxtaposed with her silly arms and legs dangling from her featureless dress.

I was having trouble with a boss mainly because I was missing down attacks and then I realised that I was an idiot and should be remapping down + attack to one of the back buttons like @shinespark taught us. Beat the fucker in one try.

I am spoiled. I will never buy a controller without back buttons again.

Good god the dash jump in this game feels good. I love Hornet's pirouettes when she jumps around. It gives her infinite style points.

Started playing last night.

I noticed that this time we get coyote time. The original didn't have it or it was miniscule, but in this game it's noticeable. That's neat.

This game just might not be for me at this point in my life. I am repeatedly quitting in frustration. I just got into Sinner's Road, and I really hate it. It does feel good when you break through to a new area or beat a tough boss, but I just feel like this game has way more roadblocks and …

This game just might not be for me at this point in my life. I am repeatedly quitting in frustration. I just got into Sinner's Road, and I really hate it. It does feel good when you break through to a new area or beat a tough boss, but I just feel like this game has way more roadblocks and breakthroughs than OG Hollow Knight did. Maybe I'll come back to it in some months, or years and love it, but I'm just annoyed with it right now.

The LONG-AWAITED Sequel to near-perfect Metroidvania...Hollow Knight Silksong was well worth the hype. From it's stunning visuals to Christopher Larkin's fantastically composed soundtrack, there's plenty that has been refined from its predecessor. First let me talk about the other pros...Hornet's movement system is a big upgrade from the slower, more patient gameplay. There is still patience involved, but enemies are far more aggressive to match your movement. This leads me into the common argument over DOUBLE DAMAGE, and it's "inconsistencies". The counterargument is usually "get gud" (in the words of hornet), but of course that's not logical criticism. I think the double damage can weaken the experience but more of the time not. What I mean is...that when another TRUE criticism: the run backs for the bosses in some areas overlap and collide with the double damage then it can become quite annoying and frustrating. I personally don't care that much about the run backs, but I can understand that complaint because Elden Ring solved this issue. Another common complaint is the economy, but I think that can sometimes be overused because it's not really a true issue...you can simply grind at certain spots in the map (although some may not enjoy that). Another complaint I have is one of the quests or rather just quests in general. They are hit or miss. Courier's Rasher although not entirely bad when you learn the path...is truly painful when you first encounter it. You have limit in how much damage you should take before it breaks and you need to fully learn the path and not make more than 3 mistakes (estimated). I've beaten the game but have not fully completed act 3 and so far I'm kind of burnt out, but for now (at least) it's my game of the year. I encourage you to play it...AFTER you play the first game.

The difficulty is badly balanced. I don't think team cherry are obligated to fix it. I don't think it's a problem. I still enjoyed it. I still love it. But this game disrespects the shit out of your time. I would've had much much more fun if it had an option to make it easier or better balanced. It's not impossible or even the hardest thing I've played at all. But I'm too old for this shit. The price for getting my joy out of the game was too high. I paid it anyway and my fingers hurt

Silksong is a story about imperialism, manipulation through religion, faith and, somehow, maternity.

I'm trying to weave (he... weave) a lore analysis of the game. Here's what I wrote about it in spanish. I hope you like it.

If you don't agree with my conclusions or have your own theories about it, let me know.

Anyone here already theorizing on the lore of the game?

If so, any theories on why is Fourth Chorus in the Deep Docks? He has a pin on their head so it suggests someone defeated them and throw them from the Citadel. Who was it and why? enter image description here

Edit: as soon as I click on 'post' I realized it was probably the seamstress that lives nearby.
