The game starts out so easy it's insulting. The entirety of world 1 is like a pre-game tutorial with almost no risk of falling. In the dragon world a few of the levels started to get more challenging. Not the fun challenging but frustrating where I would make mistakes in the same spot over and over. It was at that point I gave up trying to use motion controls because something about it felt off. I think the circle pad had a faster reaction time. I hesitated to use it though because it made the perspective jerk around more and was kind of distracting. Towards the end it wasn't as bad. I was getting used to the controls and the difficulty levels felt a little more balanced, but even the free Monkey Ball on Google play store is better than this. Maybe one good thing I can say about this version of Monkey Ball is the 3D actually made it a bit easier to get around some holes in one level. I wouldn't have 3D on all the time but having that extra depth perception can maybe help in a few areas. There's also a fighting mode and a racing …

There's also a fighting mode and a racing mode I barely played because they feel pretty low quality. In the racing mode my racer kept getting hit by a paralyzing attack that hit several times and kept me stopped way too long. Only someone who doesn't have Mario Kart or Smash Bros in their game library would appreciate the extra modes when they have nothing else to play.

I think the game itself is solid if you are a fan of the franchise and nothing much has changed in that regard. Not much has changed with this entry (outside of the addition of 3D) but my biggest issue with the game was the fact that it was made for a handheld.
I have played other Super Monkey Ball games in the past, but they were always on a home console and therefore, on my TV. But having the game screen so close to your eyes makes the movement of the course nauseating and headache inducing. Adding the optional 3D to the game renders it downright unplayable for me.
Now some may not feel this way about the game, and if you don't mind these particular facets of the game, then by all means, go for it. But I'm not sensitive to this kind of thing (game movement) as some are and this one was still just too much for me.
I'm not positive what the game goes for now, but I wouldn't spend more than $5-$10 on this title as it …

I'm not positive what the game goes for now, but I wouldn't spend more than $5-$10 on this title as it is extremely easy to beat and doesn't have that many courses in the overall game. Since one course can be done in under a minute in some cases, the play time for the entire game is low. I beat the game but more out of habit than anything because I have no intention to play this game again.
That being said, I would still try any Super Monkey Ball games that come out on the home consoles, but would stay away from any handheld ones from this point on.
