Preliminary: After completing the first level, I noticed how great the music is (tho I loved the old Qix brutal crunchiness). I suppose I like that there are "graphics" like the gremlin thing attacking me and that you're revealing an image in the background. I suppose I also like the addition of collecting letters. But we shall see. The original Qix was just perfect to me, so it'll be hard to approach a sequel. Apparently there are 16 stages in total... hmmm
Look: 8/10
The heart collectible reminds me of Kingdom Hearts. The graphics that are revealed grew on me over time, cute that they show a different animated version once you complete the round. This was a cool one
Sound: 8/10 Good jingle. Tho again, I love the original Qix crunch.
Play: 9/10 I didn't think I'd play this very long, but here I was on Round 6 already, actually managing to do it without abusing savestates. I wasn't going for highest score or to collect all the letters etc, just pushing through. The speed-up Heart power-up and the freeze-enemies Heart power-up were a lot of fun to collect, added to the gameplay. (Okay, yea I really enjoy repeated …

Like I loved that. And mwahahah using that I was able to trap the gremlin guy in Round 9.
Feel: 9/10
Lol what an interesting final level graphic
Qix is an old favorite of mine from the Gameboy release of the original. So I have nostalgia for the basic gameplay, and to top it off this added some absurd and cute 1987 touches ha. Great Feel.
Attachment: 9/10 The fact I came into this expecting just a playtest, since not much to add to the Qix formula, and instead played through all the unique stages says a lot. I kept it at the 75% requirement, and had fun doing it. The power-ups really are what made this special. Plus, the fact I've always liked the fundamental Qix gameplay. I definitely see myself playing this again, and am pleasantly surprised! Honestly this may be the Qix version I return to to show my brothers that there was an updated/later version with power-ups!
Completion: All 16 unique stages, Score: 59,900 Playtime: 30mins
