Fighting Vipers is a 3D fighting video game created by Sega AM2. While it shares the game engine with AM2's Virtua Fighter 2, it distinguishes itself with enclosed arenas and an armour mechanic. The game is primarily designed for Western audiences, incorporating a U.S. setting and embracing more freeform styles of martial arts.

V1CGaming's review of Fighting Vipers

While Virtua Fighter 2 was the fighter with the most precision gameplay, not to mention the game with more depth than any other console fighter of the late 90's era. Fighting Vipers has the same gameplay mechanic as the superlative Fighter Megamix, which was an amazing mash-up of VF2 & FVs with other SEGA mascots in there for good measure, but back to FV.

Well, to be honest, I was really pleased and surprised how well this game holds up to modern fighters. Of course the graphics are outdated but they still look really nice & the gameplay is classic SEGA arcade style brilliance. I highly recommend this & Virtua Fighter 2 which was released on XBLA on the same day as Vipers.
