Ever since Uncharted 1, despite its flaws, I have been hooked into its action/adventure gameplay. I am so happy to have experienced the whole Uncharted series from 1-4. And having the privilege to play The Lost Legacy is a bonus experience. Yep, it truly is.

[PLOT]

The game follows up after the retirement of Nathan Drake with Chloe Frazer as the main protagonist together with Nadine Ross in a treasure hunt in search of the Tusk of Ganesh. Chloe's hidden agenda involved saving Sam Drake from the hands of the antagonist, Asav. As the game progresses, you'll be in another adventure to an undiscovered place with lots of fun and exciting challenges along the way.

One thing to note about the plot is its length. Compared to the other titles from the Uncharted, the game usually takes a lot of hours to finish. As with The Lost Legacy, I guess because this was only supposed to be a DLC, it contains almost half of the usual number of chapters the Uncharted has.

It was a great job for Naughty Dog to decrease the length while not sacrificing the plot. But I must say that it lacked the set scene highlights and stunts Uncharted 4 had. There's not much to remember/highlight on Chloe Frazer's adventure on every chapter unlike from Nathan Drake's in my point of view.

Overall, The Lost Legacy's plot offers the Uncharted fans a bonus gaming experience.

[GAMEPLAY]

The game didn't changed a lot, but there were some gameplay and encounter improvements.

Improvements in the gameplay can be observed in the Treasure Hunting aspect. The Uncharted series allows you to roam around the world to find treasures for bonuses, but in The Lost Legacy treasure hunting has become more fun and difficult. Unlike the previous ones where you can just wander in nearby places as you progress towards the plot, there are some parts in The Lost Legacy where roaming far off the place rewards you with treasures. It's like a side quest in-game. The addition of the lock-picking made looting a lot interesting. The usage of the smartphone was very modernized, I like it. For some in-game photographers, the "take photo" interaction made it easier to capture beautiful views of the game environment.

For the encounter improvements, I personally think they do not seem harder than Uncharted 4's but you have to note some of the new adjustments. They added a lot of heavy artillery and machinery. They're a pain in the ass, but if you've played Uncharted for so many times you'd easily know how to take them down. Sad to say there weren't many unique encounters in The Lost Legacy except from the chapters nearing the ending.

Overall, it's a great bonus experience to play The Lost Legacy. You can play the game stand-alone, since this is Chloe Frazer's story. But it would be best appreciated if you have played the whole Uncharted series first before playing this one.

It's Uncharted

I use to be quite a big fan of the Uncharted series, but at this point it's starting to feel pretty repetitive:

  • B movie tropes: ✔
  • Climbing/sliding/rope swinging: ✔
  • Shootouts: ✔
  • Mechanical puzzles built by ancient civilizations: ✔
  • Car chases: ✔

It's still a good game and looks gorgeous, but it just feels too linear and formulaic at this point. …

Хорошо.

Концовка добавила драйва и вытянула немного скучноватую вариацию оригинала. В целом хорошо и обязательно к прохождению.
