Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (2017)

I just started this last night. Played for about two hours. So far, I'm underwhelmed. It seems like a re-skin of some of the former games' worst moments. It opens with a horribly paced walking/hallway sim, where you can't run, but instead walk slowly around a war-torn villa. Granted, the environment is pretty cool to look at. But if you're like me, you like to explore... the only thing is, if you do explore, it takes 87 years to get back to where you were because you walk so slowly! Sigh. Then there are some janky fist fights, escape moments... And then there's the open area with the car. I don't know, it just seems like everything I've seen before but done with a tablespoon or two more jank than Uncharted 4. It doesn't feel as good to play. Aiming is harder, the characters move in a weird fashion... Perhaps this is just subjective bias after returning to this game after playing Last of Us 2, but I honestly don't remember Uncharted 4 feeling so bad to play.

All this to say, I'm still kind of enjoying it! These games have a certain appeal. Hopefully the story and characters will win me over. Come on, Laura Bailey, do it again, you wonderful, talented person!

So far..... Work in Progress. Not sold yet, but open to changing my mind.

Uncharted: Lost Legacy Update #8 Wow, so I finished the game and that ending sequence was absolutely intense, and I really love the callback to Uncharted 2 as well... a great way to end the game, and the gameplay was hellah dynamic too - its like it just brought everything together for one final action packed level.

Most improtantlyChloe got to share some pizza with that little girl from the beginning along with Nadine and Sam. It was pretty funny lol. It looks like they wont be making any money from the Tusk of Ganesh though since they are going to donate it to some artifact preservation organization... so no pay day again xD. Has any of the Uncharted crew ever gotten any treasure or money from their adventures? It doesnt seem like it xD

Uncharted: Lost Legacy Update #7 - Probably the Best Scene with Chloe (Claudia Black)

So it seems that Chloe's father had actually been to the lost city where the Tusk of Ganesh was being held, and that's where her little Ganesh figurine was actually from.... but her father never told her to ensure that she and her family would be safe. Maaaan.... you rarely EVER see Chloe so vulnerable, but when you see Chloe put down the little Ganesh statue next to the others and she says, "My dad was here" ... you can just hear the sadness and pain in her voice... really gotta give it Claudia Black for putting on such a great performance... she knocked it out of the park with that scene. And the animation team as well, that was emotional AF.

Afterwards we finally catch up with Asav and Sam, and in true Uncharted fashion Asav gets away with the Tusk of Ganesh leaving Chloe, Nadine, and Sam to drown in the temple... but we escape using the power of luck and solid lockpicking skills... I don't know how Chloe was able to stay calm during that whole situation xD. Now it looks like we're going after Asav, and the end of the game is quickly approaching. It's been one helluva ride.

So A LOT of different things have happened since I last updated my status on this game. And boooy, I swear the game gets better and BETTER the further I go in lol. Time for the spoiler tag.

So apparently the Tusk of Ganesh was not in the city we were originally searching in, and it was in the old capital instead... and in perfect Uncharted fashion, the entire structure inside basically collapsed and we somehow survived lol. The fist fight between Chloe and Nadine VS Asav was absolutely BRUTAL. It's funny cuz I thought Asav was like a pushover villain, like he was all brains and no brawn, but man he really whupped our asses lol. Still, gotta give credit to Chloe and Nadine for putting up one hell of a fight, they certainly know how to dish out the damage and know how to take some hits. Next, I found out that Sam Drake is working with Asav!? He's the guy who's been helping them all along!? Was not expecting that lol, since they didn't really talk about it too much.... but based on Chloe reaction, it seems that Sam is probably being forced to help him, and she's there to help him get out of this situation.... much to the dismay of Nadine (she was pissed xD). Lastly... we got to ride on some mother f*cking elephants... now that was HYYYYYYPE! As far as I remember, I don't ever recall there being a time where you could interact with animals before in any Uncharted game, so that was definitely a first. So glad I could feed the elephant and help her get back to her family. Homie for life!

Man... it's crazy the kind of locations that Naughty Dog is able to render and create in these Uncharted games. These are places I would want to actually go see in real life... problem is, often climbing to these places or even getting there would 100% lead to death if it were attempted in real life by normal people hahaha xD.
