all S ranks in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin obtained! the first AW game I've done this for. It was a super fun project. I'm sad the game has the least content of any entry.

finished S ranking all story maps in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin! the end is in sight. while not a story map, Intricate Map has been by far the most difficult to S rank so far. www.noahsbarks.com

picked up AW: Days of Ruin again last night. got a new S rank. i can't believe we finally got an entry that realized the potential of these mechanics, then the series died. then they revived it, applied nothing learned, AND gave it to WayForward. war really is hell.

Old data is interesting.
Something pristinely held in place and perfect, only to disappear if without power, is nothing short of poetic. A digitized microcosm of life. In this case, packed into a little game of war.

My save file in Days of Ruin, has been safely entombed since its creation during a lonely and anxious subway ride in 2008. I have dug it out sporadically and have changed immeasurably since.
Thankfully, the game has not. The Advance Wars series has continually absorbed my attention across all this time with each return to my hand.
The Days of Ruin journey is likely my longest bookended single player save game file. I'm approaching the last two campaign missions, feeling happy to fulfill the save files' purpose and move on from the title.
I'll keep the save file, for whoever I am in the future. Although, my hope is to remember when I finished it, instead of who I was when it was first made. Thankfully, we're not frozen in time the same way Data can be.

I dug out my DS to see where I left off on Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. The last time I played was 10 years ago. I couldn't remember much aside from a grim spin on the series and good ol tactics goodness!
Turns out its about an incurable virus that slowly kills its host...
Maybe I'll put it back …

Maybe I'll put it back in the collection for another 10 years.

I was a bit hesitant to play this, since it's the last game of the franchise and it was released ten years ago. Intelligent Systems seem to only care about Fire Emblem at this point.
