Not bad.

Decent little metroidvania, took about an hour and a half to beat.

Mechanics and physics all work well, so the game doesn't feel cheap even though it's a small indie game.

Decent little metroidvania, took about an hour and a half to beat.

Mechanics and physics all work well, so the game doesn't feel cheap even though it's a small indie game.

Combat is a bit clunky - having explosive potions you throw in an arc instead of normal bullets, it can be hard to aim. There's only like 4 enemy types, and ghosts chase you so slowly and go through walls that it can be hard to line up shots on them. Final boss (the only boss) is a bit awkward too since it just involves waves of enemies.

Map design was nice, I like how you start off without a jump ability and have to walk around a bunch of the late-game areas, falling down to the "real" starting point. Finding every item was satisfying, though I was confused when a few paths seemed superfluous and just led to places I'd already been.

Some cool puzzles involving moving blocks, definitely had to think a bit.

Story told via journals, didn't really pay much attention or bother to collect them all but it's cool how you slowly learn that you're basically playing as the villain.

Overall, not particularly unique, but if you're a diehard Metroidvania fan it's a neat experience.

Alchemist's Castle - Switch

This one surprised me a little.

The game didn't do much to impress, but it is a pretty descent adventure platformer with light metroidvania tendencies.

The powerups are simple, but the platforming is pretty solid for most of it. Combat is kinda clunky but that's not a big problem.

Maybe the story-telling could need some work, but i guess it's …

Maybe the story-telling could need some work, but i guess it's well enough as it is.

All in all, a pretty solid, short, adventure platformer if you want something lighter.
