One of those games where I try it again occasionally on a different version, enjoy it for a few hours, then just lose my drive to stick with it. I got very into a couple later Dragon Quest games since the last time I tried it, so I figured I’d get through it this time. Unfortunately I have had a pretty similar experience to last time, where there’s nothing specifically wrong with it and I even love some things about its vibe, but I just don’t really care to pick it back up. I do like the visuals of the PS2 remake though and would stick with it as my preferred version in the future. Next time I’ll try to resume the same save and see if I can get some momentum going instead of starting over.
