Lovely deductive game with a creepy lovecraftian atmosphere.
Cosy Cosmic Horror strikes again!
This is a sequel to Strange Horticulture, though it's not required to play the first to understand it aside from easter eggs. Though why wouldn't you play the first as well, because it's also excellent.
What can you say, it's more of the same, this time identifying antique supernatural objects to solve your customers problems. It was just the same charming horror as the first game. I did still have to look up some of the solutions cause I'm not that clever.
But the gameplay pretty much improved in every way from the first game, especially how you can travel the town (town puzzles essentially) as it gave you more maps to go to and it was less grid-y than the first.
Therefore, I give it 5 stars, since it was a very satisfying cosy cosmic horror puzzle simulator, that itches this very specific vibe. Also, again. there's a cat in your shop you can always pet so that's perfect.
My girlfriend played Strange Horticulture a while ago so I gifted this one. We've been playing it for a few hours and it's really neat. The atmosphere is creepy and interesting, the world is rich and the deductive puzzles are super engaging.
This game rules so far! I've got cute little handwritten tags that I can use to customize my inventory, I've got a shriveled, severed hand sitting on my shelf, and there's an adorable cat chilling on my desk. My neighbor gifted me a lovely blue flower, and my fevered dreams are running loose in the waking world. What more could I possibly need?
