This franchise has been a big part of my life, but although it pains me to admit it, this installment isn't on par with the previous one, not even in the graphics department, because even in that aspect I feel that DOA 5 looks better, especially the characters' facial expressions.

But to be honest, I like it quite a bit, as the fighting is really smooth, and the effort put into animating the hair alone is ridiculous. It looks great.
I definitely prefer fighting games like Soul Calibur to 45-button combo-heavy ones like Street Fighter, and this feels kind of like an in-between. It wasn't difficult to pick up.
