My only knowledge of the series prior to getting this was the obvious: boobs. I'd never played a DoA before.
But to be honest, I like it quite a bit, as the fighting is really smooth, and the effort put into animating the hair alone is ridiculous. It looks great.
I definitely prefer fighting games like Soul Calibur to 45-button combo-heavy ones like Street Fighter, and this feels kind of like an in-between. It wasn't difficult to pick up.
