The combat is so slow compared to modern games and it is a shock how slow the battles go. I don't remember if the battles seemed slow when it came out, but I find myself listening to an audio book during play. The combat is interesting, the story feels real and engrossing. There are so many aspects of this game I have forgotten. The back of the box says there are air strikes, which I don't remember from previous plays. I've also been surprised how fast I got used to the old 3d graphics. At first it was hard to tell what was going on, but after about 9 hours now, it looks great to me. I don't like that the game has such a grey color pallet, but that seemed to plague many games around this era.
