Nice JRPG, Nothing Special Unless You Are A Fan
This review is for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version

Preliminary: Hmm I really like the aesthetic and colors, tho I have no ties to the anime. Hopefully the plot is real epic. I often need that to hold on to an RPG hook. The walk is very slow, and the random encounter rate is awfully high, but the aesthetic may make it worth pushing through... If the plot connects. Otherwise RPG replay tag and move on.

I'm still playing nonetheless. It's very forgiving and flows quickly. Again, I just wish the walking was faster and the plotline hooked me more. It is a cute plotline, don't get me wrong, I lvoe the "woops I'm in a fantasy world now" trope, but I dunno. Maybe I'm just antsy for the FF7 era.

This seems like a rpetty short RPG but yea likely a 3 star and move on anyway. I finished the first true-feeling boss (Alcyone). With a "Memory" setting for commands and/or a connection to the anime/manga, I would push through this now. But for now this is one worthy of returning to after I get through my hefty backlog.

Look: 8.5/10 Really nice colors. It's almost on par with the early 2d PS1 RPGs.

Sound: 8/10

Play: 7/10 …

Play: 7/10 Many nice QoL features and this could grow on a replay, but for now it's just very standard JRPG for late 95.It's more the Look and connection to the anime/manga that I think would make it special to someone. Nothing wrong with the gameplay, though, it's a very approachable RPG which is nice. Hadn't had to grind yet or anything.

Feel: 7.5/10

Attachment: 7.5/10 I feel like this is the most likely to return to on my rpg replay list so far.

Overall: 7.7/10

Completion: Heading to the Spring of Eterna

Playtime: 45 mins

For real!! This game has it all!!!!!

  • A colorful, quirky cast
  • Memorable bosses and dungeons
  • An overwhelming amount of boner humor

This screenshot but x100000. 10/10 for calling the dark sorceress a skank would run through fire again.

This is an easy game, but it could make a good introduction to RPGs for a player. I'm a fan of the anime and this covers the first season nicely.
