In Mad Max, the player takes on the role of titular character Mad Max; a dangerous melee fighter and can use his attacks to kill almost anyone. His weapon of choice is his shotgun. He is assisted by another man called Chumbucket. Chum mainly works with Max to build and upgrade the Magnum Opus vehicle. Mad Max will feature a variety of weapons which Max can use to defeat enemies. Though the shotgun is Max's weapon of choice, ammo is scarce, and so melee options are the smarter way to go. The 'thunderstick' is an explosive weapon that can be lanced into an enemy's chest, crackling like a lit dynamite fuse before blowing the victim to smithereens. The Harpoon is also one of Max's favorite weapon though it can only be used in-vehicle with Chum riding along. Max's Magnum Opus can be combined with a speedy V12 engine and powerful ramming ability to destroy enemies's vehicles and weaponry. When simultaneously driving and aiming, the game enters slow-motion and allows you to toggle between targets. Not much is known about the vehicular combat and its features. Mad Max will feature crafting system which can be used to craft new weapons and tools. Max's garage can also be used to change and modify the car's engines, chassis, wheels, body works including paint treatment and the “shell” of the auto-mobile and the car’s weight and attributes update accordingly. Max can also be upgraded though it's plans hasn't fully been implemented. Many choices are given in the game, such as, either playing silently or aggressively. Max can also get guidance from Chum about how he can complete his objectives strategically. However, its largely up to the player how he can complete the objectives. Read less

Thankyou Gameranx for introducing me with this, highly underrated adventure. If only all the movie tie ins could be so well made. If you love the Mad Max lore, or if are a fan of Arkham style games, you would love this. Runs really well, the world is beautiful to be lost in.

The combat gets repetitive but is simple enough to hone, and once you master it the finishes can be really satisfying. Enough side content to keep you going.

Really an amazing Plug and play experience.

My first IMAX experience and I'm so glad it was for Furiosa. Couldn't think of a better film to fill the screen with so much madness and chaos. Need more of this sort of stuff in our cinemas. What a ride!

Feeling inspired to pick the game back up again and pick up where I left off a few years ago. Think I got a bit tired of the grind at the time and put it down only to forget about it. The wasteland awaits me!

at first the proposal seems nice and the game feels really exciting but after 5 hours of gameplay is gets too repetitive

This is a really fun game at first but it feels like they ran out of ideas at some point. Also, the main story takes an incredible nosedive at some point. Just when you think they've actively tried to avoid tired trops they quadruple down on them. Ugh.

I was a bit worried when I decided to replay this game thinking it might not hold up, but it definitely does. I'm still not sure what it does so different from other open world sidequestathons but it's still super enjoyable and fresh.

Having much more fun with this, than i expected, the lore fits very well into the world-building of the Mad-Max-films. Sure it has it flaws, the same mistakes every open-world-game has but if you like to take a look into mankinds future this game delivers it quite exactly, would eat maggots again!

Still really enjoying this game. There are definitely some frustrations with the controls, but all the other good qualities out-weigh the control issues. The world is beautiful, there's tons of stuff to do, the characters are interesting, the voice acting is excellent, the world is well-realized, and there's an excellent feeling of progress throughout.

Started playing this a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it. First game in a while that has actually made me want to get settled in on the couch to play a game, rather than just watch YouTube to chill in the evening!

Finished the story missions. The last 40ish minutes focuses a lot on the non-existent story and really goes all-out on the low blows. Frankly, I didn't get why anyone did anything since the character motivations are also non-existent. On top of that, Max really digs his heels into being an ass-hole and, probably, the bad guy of the game.
