More like GRIND Autosport! Amirite?

When it comes to racing games, I'm more used to wacky arcade than realistic ones. I've been having a lot of fun with this game, though: the tracks seem to be pretty bland at first, but you'll start seeing some cool ones later on. The graphics are pretty and the realism doesn't take a way from great action. Also, the game seems to have a deeper and more nuanced control scheme for more experienced players while still allowing newer ones to ease into the experience. It's very clever to have difficulty tied to the complexity of the controls.
Speaking of variety, it has several different types of racing modalities: from touring to open wheel and street races. My main issue is that it gets VERY repetitive, even with all the different racing modes. The campaign has five different racing types, but endurance feels tacked on, tedious filler and drifting would have been more welcome separate from the campaign like drag. I'm more than fine with a game like this having no story, but the progression is not satisfying at all. You don't even get to see actual cups, just a tiny "1st" tag over a tour's banner. And you unlock more races simply by leveling up. This makes the very thought of completing the campaign 100% painful to just think about; I'll consider this game beaten when I max level a single modality. Also, there is no customization at all. You run with the car you get and that's it, which sucks. This game would be a 5/5 if it had a more compelling progression system, some customization and a tighter, more focused campaign. It's still a great racing game!
