For a 2003 release I was (initially) impressed. This game combines many elements of later 90's era FPS titles and tries to weaves together something that is showcasing the better bits.

However, the game has some drawbacks. The maps are nice and open but they tend to have objective based events or places you must go or very linear and arbitrary triggers that show the game age. In addition the AI left a lot to be desired (as did the story.) For every cool mechanic shoehorned in here (bullet time, intro cut scenes, stealth levels, 6DoF levels, selective fire modes) it seems there is some kind of drawback.
To me the game felt most akin to SOF, due to it's many sluggers with varying amounts of recoil and damge dealing potential. The game shines here. But in the end the age and hokey story put a ceiling on my enjoyment of it.
