Enjoyable and realistic gameplay on the court but it is one hell of a grind to level up and microtransactions are rampant throughout.
This could have been so much better without the grind and micro transactions that try and stop you from the grind.
NBA 2K18 returns to be the star of the sports games. The effort of Visual Concepts continues to surpass year after year is evident in this release to recreate the entire NBA perfectly, with The Neighborhood as a great novelty and a lot of content and game modes with which you will have endless hours of entertainment. All this with a spectacular graphical aspect.
Indeed, this is a must have title for the console or PC for the people who love the NBA 2K franchise. This is definitely the best among all their previous installments.
With a major upgrade on the MyCareer mode, it gives a lot of motivation to the gamers (well, at least for me) to train and be a formidable player on the hardwood and on the street. It gives you the excitement and thrill to be playing amongst thousands of video gamers around the world.
However, we do have a big problem on 2k's server as it can't seem to handle traffic efficiently which was kind of frustrating. It's hard to fully enjoy the online MyCareer mode if you usually can't connect to the server or if you keep lagging in-game.
As for the MyTeam mode, same problem is with the server. It pisses me off to be dropped out of an online game if the network connection is unstable and I chose to make the most of my time. Especially when I'm already winning by a big margin.
I'd like to commend the game though for its great controls and total graphics upgrade as well. Man, gameplay has never …

I'd like to commend the game though for its great controls and total graphics upgrade as well. Man, gameplay has never been this "too realistic". You could easily play your idol the way you want him to. Like how he would play exactly in the real world. And with the graphics upgrade, it makes it really look believable.
Anyone here also experiencing this error code?: EFEAB30C
Sucks ‘coz I can’t play online because of this. Wouldn’t connect to 2k server. Ports are opened tho. NAT Type is 2. And I’m perfectly cool with MHWorld right now, no network problem at all. Just wanted to get back with sports and this is what’s hindering me. 🤔
Srsly?! I'm still getting disconnected despite being connected via LAN. And I'm getting "NBA 2k18 has encountered an error." problem sometimes. On the suggested actions for the error, I was asked to check for game updates or check for software updates. But when I checked, both are on their latest versions!
Does anyone here has the same problem as mine? I'm playing in the PS4 Slim by the way. These errors (Network disconnection, and game issue) really suck considering how bad I really want to make progress in MyCareer... :(
Dude. Whyyyy. I always get disconnected mid-game and then goes online right after. It sucks especially in MyCareer when you're already having a great game. Tsk.
I have yet to discover whether it's really because of my ISP, but I don't think so since my other devices don't get disconnected when my PS4 does. My setup is now near our WiFi router; I'm going to try playing through LAN and see if there's going to be some improvements.
Every time I get to play NBA2k18, it is always downloading/updating game. The good news is that you get to be updated in real NBA scenario, the bad news is that it's taking too much time to update! And you can't play online if the game hasn't finished updating yet. Oh well... Ball is life. And patience is a virtue.
I love the features of this new installment from 2K sports. But they really have to fix their game server. I keep getting disconnected!
Actually I'm not sure if it's a server problem or a network failure on my end. Has anyone experienced this as well? Does the PS4 have a required speed for online (although, I don't find myself disconnecting in Bloodborne recently) games? I'm playing on WiFi btw.
