Bought this finally for 8 bucks, and boy howdy, I am having a BLAST. It's like being back in the arcade.

the memories that i had going to arcades and sucking really bad at the game came back to me. it was even worse without a light gun. definitely feels like it misses a ton without one.

While its got some cool additions on top of the original game, being able to reload on button click at the same time as shooting, slowing down the final boss, and an essentially infinite continues system with no real penalty are really huge marks against what could otherwise be a good port.

Also the new horde mode is designed around Scarlet Dawn's horde mode, but rather than giving you auto fire, or making enemies not attack you when the camera isn't facing them, or having enemies stagger on hit, this game ignores all the above and makes for a nearly umplayable game mode. Expect cheap shots from off screen, and no way to prevent being hit when you have multiple zombies attacking you at once.

So far I am pretty disappointed in this remake, going to do another run of the normal mode on the hardest difficulty and check out the other weapons they've included before putting a fork in this one.

I will say that the zombie gore in this is pretty cool, being able to shoot off their skin and reveal their boney insides is awesome.
