Unfortunately deciding to drop this after growing increasingly frustrated with navigation in the game world.

I think the map / sea floor is randomly generated when not on a quest that requires a specific layout? This combined with the lack of waypoints during quests has turned the game more into a chore than an enjoyable experience. Don't get me wrong, I love learning a good map, but when everything looks the same, and when the map feels like it changes layout sometimes, I really can't be asked to fumble my way to the next objective. There's been way too many times where I have no clue where I'm meant to be going.

The restaurant management side of the game, and the mini-games, are really fun though! More of that please!

9 hours in and i'm getting bored. I shouldn't have bought this, i don't like management games, i just wanted to know what all the fuss was about. The diving part feels like low stakes Subnautica :( i liked it for the first 5 hours but then i got tired of it. Maybe if it was 10 hours long it'ld …

The diving part feels like low stakes Subnautica :( i liked it for the first 5 hours but then i got tired of it. Maybe if it was 10 hours long it'ld be fine, but i can't see myself playing 20 more hours of this.

Dave the Diver was nominated as Best indie game in The Game Awards.

This is a really good and fun game. But is not and indie game. Mintrocket Studio is part of Nexon. Is like saying that Pentiment is and indie game despite being made by a Microsoft Studio.

In case you don't believe me, the same devs reject the indie category.

Out of all the nintendo direct announcements I'm the most excited for Dave the Diver on switch no shame. (probably going to do some research on how the controls are first tho)

My son made his own little sushi restaurant in his play kitchen this weekend after watching me play this. 5/5.

It's also very fun. I can't decide if this would be an approved @BMO fishing game or not. You're mostly shooting fish more than actually fishing.

I'm a notorious fishing hater, both in real life and in games, but this game is fun. Though I'm not sure if I'd call this a fishing game in the traditional sense so much as a game that has "catching" fish as part of its many mechanics. There's alot of charm here and gameplay aside, the art direction and dialogue is goofy, comedic, and just enjoyable. There are parts that are a little bit annoying, such as having to dive to activate a mission that tells you to go back to surface to get a new item and then come back to proceed. It's not a big deal though of course, as no dive is wasted when you can bring back a haul of fish for the restaurant portion of the game. Also why is everyone so mean to Dave??

Considering this is still in early access, what you get is brilliant. Sure there are a few small things that could be added to improve the over all experience (like being able to fast travel in certain underwater locations), but it's super relaxing, the soundtrack is great, and it features tons of details that show how much effort went into …
