Uplink + Holtine Miami

There are like 12 classes in this game. And you can multi-class.
In my first playthrough I focused on hacking and necromancy skills. But there are also stealth, combat and spell focused classes.

There are like 12 classes in this game. And you can multi-class.
In my first playthrough I focused on hacking and necromancy skills. But there are also stealth, combat and spell focused classes.

So I could hack everything: computers, turrets and other security systems, other cyborgs (and control them), individual bullets (and return them to sender).
And since I was a necromancer, I rarely had to risk my life, because I could raise dead enemies and control them instead of exposing myself.

Hacking is done as terminal commands (with autocomplete and command history for convenience). There is also a mouse based hacking UI in accessibility options.
Combat is very similar to Hotline Miami: almost everyone dies in 1-3 shots, but there is also slow-mo.

Overall I had a blast with the demo (yay, free demos!), but didn't finish the full game. Eventually, mission locations become bigger and have more enemies and it becomes easier to just go loud and kill everyone. But this is typical thing with games that try to balance combat and stealth, like Dishonored. I guess it makes sense that as a rookie it's better to stick to stealth, but as you gain skills and better armor - open assault becomes more effective.

I'm crying man

I knew this was gonna happen upon my next return to my apartment, but I had to step away from the game to do some errands. Lo and behold on my next reboot I had completely forgotten about it.

Me extracting after another successful mission and going to my apartment to pet my worm and read some emails

This game's so freaking funny man. Side note, sleep with one eye open if you make The Concierge jealous.

A few years back I played this game in early access and was very taken in by its concept and vision. Despite wanting to keep playing, I decided to wait for the full release instead and I'm very glad that I did so. This game is brutally difficult but I cannot put it down. Grasping the game's mechanics and pulling them off in a mission run is as ridiculously difficult and even cumbersome to pull off as it is satisfying when you actually manage it. I like to think I type quite fast and accurately but alas I did not take into account how silly and comically stressful it can be to slow down time and try to type commands as quickly as possible without mistakes. My debt is insurmountable and my life now belongs to The Concierge.
