Doom, but for kids, Jokes edtion
There's nothing particularly special about High on Life, aside from the talking guns. While they do offer a variety of gameplay mechanics and boss fights, the game still lacks that “hook” that keeps you fully engaged.
Sure, the story is decent, but it's not something extraordinary—you mostly feel like you're playing through one long joke.

What really disappointed me was how short the game is. By the time you get the powerful weapons and decent gear, you're already at the final boss. There are no real side quests, no much of weapon variants, and to top it off, the game suffers from poor optimization.
It's a game that you get it for a good discount to finsh in hte weekend, no more no less.

weapon shop upgrade system feels plastic and its not really that fun to explore these maps. I didnt focus on this at all and it wasnt necessary.
The game has a lot of wild visually cool looking moments but sometimes the mechanics in which those things originate dont mesh well in terms of gameplay. running on the walls using magboots is pretty cool visually, buts it arbitarily implemented in maps and clunky and feels contrived. same with the gloop switch puzzles or anything else that is similar.
