Realllllly haven't been feeling the micro/home computer games from this era. I understand it's mostly due to limitations, but meh, with incredible arcade games being released contemporaneously, it's hard not to focus on the arcade games. This had a decent look to it, and I'm growing more and more fond of this Pac-Man-era color scheme to arcade games hmmmm who woulda thunk,.. tho I still have no clue what exactly was going on
This always felt good once you set fire to the whole place and moved on to next level..plus... the only part in the game that felt like I was being a "naughty boy"
Sound: 7/10 Nice to hear "actual music" in this--as forgettable and meh as it is, it wasn't super annoying and overall, this is way better than most of its era so I boosted it a bit.
Play: 8/10 People criticized the throwing mechanism but I found it spot-on, accurate everytime, and quick to learn. I actually felt pretty good at this game! This article is fun to read and has some good info for the game (plus some videos), since I found no manual etc (after all it's originally arcade... I still …

This article is fun to read and has some good info for the game (plus some videos), since I found no manual etc (after all it's originally arcade... I still thought the later ports would have uploaded instructions). Like I got to the end, I killed a bunch of em, destroyed the towers, but then what? And what is that weird central thing with a score seeming thing on it? (Welp, thanks to the video, tho it took the creator a while to figure out too, you just destroy all the flags, even the ones along the furthest-up wall that I didn't notice, to move on to the next stage/level once you are satisfied with your score. Rinse, repeat. Sad there was no diagonal movement tho, critical imo. I really liked the throwing mechanism, tho, sorta gave me Abe's Odyssey/Exodus vibes when you'd throw grenades or rocks etc heh.
Feel: 8/10 Unique, odd, very early-80s-Japanese-arcade-feeling. Tons of games kept coming to mind that I wanted to jot down that this gave a feel of, but of course, I was too into the game and eventually forgot em all heh. Everything from the set design sprites to the gameplay just felt right for its time and place--'82 is shaping up to be another year of arcade games!

I already replayed this once, so it could even be a 9, but since I don't really know how much longer I will be interested in frequently returning to arcade games--as I get into more modern console era--we shall see.. Oh, and I love love love "Japanese Leisure Co" excited to explore more of their games
