Arles doesn't feel anything like the previous Cube Escape games, rather attempting to be a Van Gogh game without adding any charm to the weird town of Rusty Lake. As Van Gogh you must get a black cube to escape the door, much like the other games - as for plot, mystery, or any atmosphere it feels disconnected from everything so far.

As for the gameplay elements, Arles feels a little too obtuse. Before the mechanics in these games for producing strange elements was a simple setup - poke something that feels off. this time, though, setting up absinthe and putting liquids in the correct areas gets the player a little more stuck this time. Even with the surreal logic of the Rusty Lake games, there's a lot of items here and less that comes together without a little trial and error.

People with a little more patience for adventure games can bump up a star on this one, but is a non sequitur that doesn't fit with the premise of the other games and doesn't feel as interesting.
