You attack enemies in real time, tapping X once for a simple attack and repeatedly for a combo. You can also guard against attack, dash at an enemy, and press a button to run about the play field faster. The game places heavy emphasis on magic use, with the magic meter recovering automatically and quickly following each spell. Less

Beat on loan from my coworker immediately after beating Twilight of Spirits. It was nice to revisit the same world and see how the characters from ToS are doing. I don't remember details about how I played and what special abilities/magic I used. I do recall melee fighting a lot and finding the combat clunky. I don't know what annoyed me more; the game making the character fall down every time he ran into a wall (because why would I ever not go full speed?) or the X axis camera controls being reversed with no option to change it. I also remember swearing profoundly (and possibly punching that hole in my wall) over the god damn escort quests. Braindead retards that run towards the enemies to get one shotted by ranged attacks. Thanks game, I really enjoyed all that resetting and loading. And then the stupid crafting system for more reset scumming. The rest of the game was reasonably fun though.

I still have my save file but no game to check stats and gear. 6.5/10.
