Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic is exactly what is says on the tin, every scenario from Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 rolled into a slick mobile app that plays about as well as you can reasonably expect.
A few changes have been made from the original iterations of these games, but otherwise if you remember playing RCT a decade or two ago, this will be the experience you remember. The combination of creative, rollercoaster and park building mechanics pair masterfully with the business management mechanics. As well, the isometric, pixel aesthetic is as charming as ever and holds up remarkably well to this day
Compromises, of course, had to be made to make this game playable on a smart device. Navigating the small, finicky interface isn't ideal on a small phone, but this is more a limitation of the hardware than it is a shortcoming of the developers.
Overall, I reccomend this game to absolutely anybody looking for a full, complete offline gaming experience for smartphones, even non-fans of Rollercoaster Tycoon
RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic has become one of those games that I return to once a year, and I get obsessed with it every time. I adore this game, it's packed with scenarios and objects to get creative with. The UI and isometric view felt awkward at first, but now I love it. I love working within the game's limitations and learning the robust sim elements. The physics make sense and micromanaging my park feels great. I have put 100 hours into the game, and I have finally gotten good at building my own coasters. I have refined my strategy for running my parks too, my guest's wallets don't stand a chance.
I love the art style of the game, it is so charming. I could watch my coasters and trains move around all day. After going into a building and micromanaging frenzy to meet an objective, it is fun to sit back and watch your creation come to life (and watch the cash fly in of course).
I mentioned the game is packed with scenarios, but not all of them are good. The expansion pack scenarios often have huge spaces, wide paths, and tough objectives. They aren't fun to manage. …

I mentioned the game is packed with scenarios, but not all of them are good. The expansion pack scenarios often have huge spaces, wide paths, and tough objectives. They aren't fun to manage. I still have original game scenarios to go through despite how much time I have put into the game, so it isn't a huge issue.
The other issue I have with the game is that I can't make a mega park with all of the rides and scenery items in the game. The ride designer and park scenario designer tools are nice, but they are limited in options. For example you can't move terrain in the ride designer tool, which is unfortunate because I love making rides that go in and out of mountains during scenarios. As much as I love completing scenarios and designing rides, I do wish there was a sandbox mode.
This game is worth your time and money. Just be patient while learning everything, and the game will bring you so much joy. RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is really good value no matter what price you buy it at.
