This is a bit of a hidden gem, a retro game where you are playing homages to even older retro games, in a series of challenges.

Parts of the formula are a bit rough, and I wish some of the games didn't repeat as much as they do, but overall this game is really fun. It recreates some of the joy of playing old games with friends, complete with reading video game magazines for hints and tips.

The presentation of the games themselves still looks great, and their gameplay is pretty sharp.

I cleared all the challenges, but the final one, where you need to beat each game. After dying repeatedly in the Ninja Gaiden-like game I gave up, mostly because that final game was also my least favorite.

Overall, if you like quirky fun DS games this is a must try.
