Just started a stream of gameplay for Dragon Quest Builders this week. Not sure how far I'll get, but I'm looking forward to building up my base and exploring the world.
I haven't ever gotten really far in this game, and would like to make some significant progress.

Just started playing DQ Builders, and damn it really is a minecraft clone. A shame that's it's not first person, because the camera can be annoying, especially in buildings.

I played the demo and found the switch controls really hard to use. I'm used to playing minecraft and similar games on PC, where I can aim with a mouse. Trying to use two toggle sticks to get a brick exactly where I want it is frustrating. Switch has it for $55 which is not a price I'm willing to …

However, I'm seeing the PS4 version for $25 on Amazon, less for used some places. So I might grab a copy of this to play sometime. I hear the quests and silliness is a good time, so maybe I will suffer through the controls... :P

Building in this game is really addictive, and doesn't actually remind me of Minecraft at all, except that you're building with blocks. The graphics are much nicer and the story is simple but never fades completely into the background. And if you just want to build, you've got Terra Incognita. I'm putting all my weird and fancy stuff in there. …

I think this game was made as a joke. But turned out to be a huge success. This game is closely related to minecraft, while being worlds away from it. I would recommend this game to all ages, as its pure and fun for all ages, albeit a little hard to control.

Played a bit of the demo. Compared to Minecraft there is nothing really new here, outside of the potential for a developed overarching plot. However, the lack of originality is not necessarily a negative. If you enjoy Minecraft, or similar games, and you enjoy Dragon Quest, this game expertly merges them. However, the lack of originality is not necessarily a negative. If you enjoy Minecraft, or similar games, and you enjoy Dragon Quest, this game expertly merges them. As a result, Dragon Quest Builders is a great deal more fun than I expected. Added bonus for Vita owners, it plays very nicely on Vita and is a perfect game for the platform, functioning well as both a game you can play for hours or one you pick up and play in spurts.
