... or that would be a good review title if this game was at all hard or expensive, but it's not. Desvelado is a relatively chill puzzle platformer in which you play as a cute vampire trying to turn off all the lights in his castle so he can go to sleep. (It's also pretty cheap and currently on sale).

Puzzles are Celeste-style single room platforming challenges that involve turning off the torches (by touching them) in particular order. For example, some torches give you a single dash that might allow you to get into higher places. Puzzles are not super complex --in most cases the solution is immediately obvious-- but are still fun and the game is short enough to keep things fresh until the end.

But the thing that really elevates the game is the design. The art is lovely. Both Vampi and the ghost enemies are extremely cute, animations are fluid and satisfying. The way the character bobs and stretches when jumping or dashing achieves that holy grail of just moving the character feeling fun.

The music is also outstanding; a sort of creepy version of tango and other Argentinean folkloric rhythms with modern flourishes that I desperately need to add to my collection and listen on loop.

Desvelado is short but sweet and a very welcomed surprise.
