There are quite a few gimmicky battle royale games out there these days that transpose the genre's rules onto unexpected non-shooter gameplay. This one is a Scrabble game where connecting your word to an opponent's last placed word "kills" them, and the playable area gradually shrinks toward the center.
While it's lacking in some polish as an early access title, is limited somewhat by the inconsistent-feeling Scrabble dictionary, and doesn't quite reach the intense heights of a traditional battle royale or Tetris 99, it's still worth your time as a fast-paced, addictive, and free multiplayer experience.
This altered take on Scrabble is a surprisingly great setup for the battle royale formula. Awareness of your position and the positions of other players becomes crucial to grab a quick kill or avoid your own demise. Power-ups added to the map and in-game shop add a welcome extra layer of strategy without being a distraction from the core gameplay.
The matches are very quick and easy to get into. I appreciated the addition of a simple practice mode on the loading screen. It makes it very easy to just sit and play the game for a super long time without getting tired …

There are small areas that could be improved such as the new player onboarding experience and UI design, but by and large the formula is here and already executed pretty well. Again, this is totally free on Steam, so if you are interested, definitely give it a shot.
Hilarious idea. Very funny to be tense over something so stupid. Fun to watch.
Suffers from the same bullshit scrabble does due to its dictionary. Two letter (and other) words no one uses in real life. Worsened by the fact there is no penalty for guessing words makes it feel kind of bull sometimes.
Ex. Zin is a word but not zen. You will get AA'd off start frequently
Somehow, Tetris has been dethroned as the weirdest concept for a battle royale.
