Colorful but boring
This review is for the PlayStation Network (PS3) version

As a musician, I enjoy rhythm games. This one turned out to be a quirky and colorful way to get my fix. At first it was charming, with its weird comedy and backwards shooting. Unfortunately, it got very boring since the songs didn't change in the different difficulties. They just added more complex rhythms and patterns to follow.

The presentation is very unique, and it could be polarizing. For example, I hated the main menu display, since you can barely read the words. On the other hand, the gameplay didn't look bad at all, and the backwards feature was enjoyable.

My issue is with the music. There are not enough tracks to keep me engaged to try higher difficulties. First of all, the music is not great. You would think they would have awesome tunes for a rhythm game, but no. They are all repetitive and have nothing memorable. Things get worse since there are no new songs for other difficulties. Even for the challenges it's the same thing.

I stopped playing because the challenges got too difficult for me, and I started to get pain in my left thumb trying to hit impossible patterns. Also, it just got boring. …

I think the game is OK for streaming and very casual gaming, but not for a completionist.
