8th May, 2011 - the fated day on which I installed Dead Space and started playing it. I was going through a tremendous gaming phase, having finished Fallout 3 on very hard, Dragon Age: Origins on impossible and Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening on impossible. So, without considering the fact that I am not as good at playing FPS games, I started playing Dead Space on hard. It wasn't the wrong decision, but the consequences were time-consuming. From that day, I played Dead Space on and off for almost a year, till today. Yes, I have finally finished Dead Space. I couldn't continue playing the game for an extended period because I kept getting mutilated by the Necromorphs at certain levels till it became frustrating and I gave up (temporarily). Now, I have realized that since I am a compulsive hoarder in video games as well, I kept saving the power nodes instead of upgrading my equipment. That might have been why I kept getting decimated again and again. In any case, after I used up all the collected power nodes and upgraded the contact beam, the game became a breeze; and except for a few annoying sequences, I didn't die much. The last boss was ridiculously easy and I don't know why it was even attacking, given how simple it was to dodge its attacks. Ultimately, the game will remain memorable - the eerie atmosphere, the disturbing and well-formulated storyline, the unique enemies and the awesome anti-gravity portions. Time to download Dead Space 2.
