A passable effort.

This roguelike game does a passable effort at being original in its old west theme, but unfortunately the lack of variety in gameplay and weapon types means doing the same thing over and over and over again. The powerups you get along the way are extremely generic, such as more ammunition, more damage, some healing, but they don't really alter the way you do runs. I don't really feel inspired to try again and again with different characters, as I don't find the gameplay differs enough with each run, regardless of character/weapon build.

With the pixel graphics, I find it extremely difficult to tell what is thorns and what is a pixelized blood spatter. You can go into game's settings and put on high contrast mode to see a little bit better, but it isn't an enormous help. This isn't a problem I have ever seen in another game, so this is definitely one for the record books for strange game design choices.
