Fun to Drive Backwards as a Kid
This review is for the PlayStation version

See the title for the main source of enjoyment growing up. You can turn on varying levels of damage, and although the graphical representation is not in-depth, I feel like the damage modeling had to be somewhat impressive for the time. Looking back on the game now, though, is a great way to relive a Golden Era of sorts in NASCAR. Some of the biggest names in the sport were all driving at the time the game was made. There is a season/career mode with some opportunities to tune the car, and I have enjoyed playing the game even now. One could say that this was one of the first sim-cade style games, though it probably leans more to the cade side whereas the Gran-Turismo games of the time leaned more toward sim. If you like Nascar or southern rock music, you will probably enjoy this game.
