Thousands of history's famous monsters gather for the meeting of the century. But their volcanic convention center erupts, mysteriously turning them into terrors of pint-size proportions. They escape to the home of Jack, the teenage "Captain of Cool." There begins a battle between the good ghouls and The Warlock's band of evil beasts. You must become The Vampire or The Monster and lead the forces of right through a humongous, human-size world six levels deep, featuring Jack's house, a scummy sewer, a hazardous construction site, and an odd oriental palace. Don't get burned on the kitchen stove or crushed by runaway golf balls. Meanwhile you'll have to punch and zap at all your fiendishly favorite monsters including the head-rolling Skeleton, the rock candy throwing Goblin, the bone-crushing Cyclops, and dozens more! Every monster you mash is worth points. Score enough and you'll get an extra life. Something you'll really need when you finally face the powerful Warlock and his magic lightning jolts. So be a pocket-size peacemaker and conquer the smallest threat to monsterdom the world has ever known! Read less

Before we Had Pocket Monsters, we Had... Monsters in My Pocket!...

Fun Fact. The Pts. Had to do with how powerful the monsters were... so yes, it was in fact a crude Monster Battler system, hehehe. I like how that sort of translated into the game: Harder enemies that go down with more hits are worth more 'pts' and every 500 of them you get an extra life.

enter image description here MimP feels a bit like T.M.N.T. mixed in with the settings and levels of Rescue Rangers. Playing it isn't as satisfying as either, unfortunately.

supports two player Co-Op, so best played with a friend (I guess?)

Based on the popular toys from the 80s-90s, Monster in My Pocket is the quintessential 3 star NES game. What do I mean by that? I mean that while you are playing it, you will have fun, and likely enjoy the experience, but once you are done playing it, you won't remember much about it at all, or have a desire to revisit it again.

Playing as either a vampire or Frankenstein's Monster, you go around a house defeating other evil monsters. The levels play into the fact that you are small monsters, as items like big keys, boom boxes and other objects are both weapons you can use, as well as things you can scale to reach different areas.

The game is not overly challenging and you should be able to complete it in 45 minutes to an hour.

Again, nothing terrific about this and nothing terrible either. A solid game to scratch an itch and then you can move on.
