Beat on slow mode as the monster. I initially tried the vampire then wanted to try the other to see if there was any difference. There was not so might as well stick with him. The vamp was cooler but I preferred the blue of Frankenstein over the red. The game was pretty simple 2D action platformer. I liked the wide arc on the attacks and how it stuck around for a second, making the melee combat quite forgiving. You could occasionally pick up objects to throw for easier kills. Sometimes the enemies seemed infinite, and some enemies were way more difficult than others. Toughest ones were the wolf things that hid behind pillars, had a ranged attack, and sometimes charged for contact damage. Also the flying hydra that shot lightning. The double jump was great and I liked the verticality for some of the stages, plus the giant size of things. I liked some of the bosses but others became tedious. They all had very fixed patterns with the kraken and crane being the most tedious. The banshee and warlock seemed to have a little bit of randomness at least, though the final tv boss went back to being too simple. Some of the normal enemy encounters were also a bit tedious and repetitive. Overall a fairly fun decent game with pretty good controls held back by repetitiveness and lack of depth. Making the 2 playable characters play differently or adding something like Castlevania's sub weapons would have gone a long way to improving the game.
