My favorite monster hunter game, the maps especially are gorgeous, and it's packed with content(I don't think putting a lot of content into a game makes it good usually but for the mh series it works).

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: 200+ Hours of Friendship

Based on the previous reviews for the previous Monster Hunter games, not much has changed. Apart from the verticality and mounting that allows ease of attacking and knocking down monsters, this is the same old Monster Hunter you know (and hate/love). What makes this one so special and so good?

It eases the player in like never before. Mysteries hidden behind obfuscated layer after layer are shed away in a light but compelling story mode, and the multiplayer reaches new heights with the introduction of online gameplay on 3DS. Being limited to soloing most of the time turns into a learning experience where a strong community can still play the game "as it was meant to be played". The taxing amount of combat and gathering and crafting is made fun again with finding friends (or burdens, but that's what comes with online games) that truly make this game worth the affordable price that it goes for.

If you play a Monster Hunter game for the first time or want to really dig deep into one of them, 4 Ultimate is your go-to game. Grab a few friends and find some online!

Been playing a good amount of MH4U recently. Games structured around missions are nice for weeknights as I don't feel like I need to set aside several uninterrupted hours for playing as the break points are kind of built in

Reached cheeko sands and captured a monkey with poisonous farts...

I did my first expedition today, as well as finally completing the egg collection quest I've been putting off.

I DO NOT LIKE THE EGG QUEST
