Not like N64
This review is for the Nintendo DS version

So many Blockbuster rentals with Snowboard Kids 2 for the N64, I was kind of hoping for some nostalgia when I picked this up. But the style of this DS game is more grounded and so less appealing. No weird big noses, no demons, no big guys plowing down the track. It also felt unpolished, with some glitchy spots on tracks where you could just get stuck indefinitely. The AI felt pretty unfair constantly pelting you with attacks one after another after another, which felt even more brutal on such tight little courses. There are also some moments that felt decidedly cruel in an old school sense, like hiding a mine at the end of a track on a time trial so you go through the whole thing, almost finish, and then boom. Time to start the whole thing over and this time remember there's a mine.

No thanks. Guess I should find my eBay password.
