The story is okay but it's told kind of poorly. For example, how many times does he have to talk about the drink? I get it... it's a game about addiction, but enough is enough sometimes, we get it, he's an alcoholic. It seems like it's just throwing this (and the fact his daughter died) out there over and over, using sad words to make you feel rather than actually creating a compelling plot.
The platforming isn't especially fantastic, mostly consisting of things we've seen again and again within the genre. There are also a lot of times when you're just running forward and not doing much of anything. For such a short game, you'd think there would be a little more excitement.
Mostly I give it props for its atmosphere, visuals and music. This is where the game is at its best. The visuals are surreal and some of the finer visuals of the year so far, and the moodly string music adds to it... creating a dark, depressing, strange world.
It's just a shame that the main character talks and uses introspective buzz words to try to rope you in. It does the opposite... it takes away from the atmosphere.
