Coming to this game from Dirt 3, I found it to be less complex and not as rewarding. It's still fun to play, but feels like a lesser version of Dirt 3. The focus here is on arcade-style events, and the vehicles also behave accordingly. Event types are fairly limited, and there is a lot of repetition throughout the Showdown Tour. Gymkana events from Dirt 3 return as Hoonigan events, but even they seem simpler this time around due to the new handling characteristics. The soundtrack is decent, with a mix of rock, metal, electronic and hip-hop tracks.
Varied events, sparkling social challenges, and rowdy online skirmishes make Dirt Showdown the rare spinoff that's as amazing as its much-loved predecessor, albeit in its own unique way. It's an absolute blast throughout, and proof that accessible, arcade-style thrills and spills can still deliver via superb execution.
didn't end up playing much of this game but I can certainly say I liked it. I was getting a lot of DiRT 3 vibes (which was the first DiRT game I ever played) so it didn't seem much different and any more interesting regardless of the different minigames it has to offer
