Gorf actually consists in the Arcade version of five different types of space shooters. The first one ist basically is a Space Invaders clone. In the second one a formation of space ships is hovering at the top of the screen while single space ships will disengage from the formation and dive down at you. The third variant is a Glaxian clone and only available in the Arcade version. In the fourth mini-game the enemy will come out of a circular hyperspace field and attack you. After having destroyed four of your attackers the game proceeds to the fifth game stage. Here a huge mothership is dropping bombs at you from the top of the screen. You defeat the mothership with a well placed projectile hitting it between its two major sections. After that the game starts from the gebinning on a higher difficulty level. Read less

Another Solid Arcade Shooter -- But There Are So Many Of Them

Look: 7/10 I definitely caught its references, overall fun good colors and good space graphic. But didn't really stand out. I did like, in the MAME version I played, how this is laid out tho lol Space Cadet rank enter image description here

Sound: 8/10 The sound was good and crunch, not annoying like it could have been given the time and gameplay. Plus, I love this era's synthesized robot speech in games :-p

Play: 7/10 While I like all the games this draws from, and this game's controls are tight and responsive and well-done, I just probly would replay Space Invaders heh. Nevertheless, if you like that classic arcade shooter gameplay, this one is absolutely worth a play.

Feel: 7/10 I do like how it was multiple stages, and the gameplay was well-done. I always like when you can destroy enemy bullets with your own. I was disappointed I couldn't just spray off bullets lol, your current bullet disappears when you shoot your next one.

Attachment: 7/10 I know I say this a lot about arcade shooters, but I mean cmon: there are just so many, so they really have to stand out. Still, like I often say, this game is worth a replay whenever I'm craving a multi-stage, fast-paced, fun space shooter game.
