A Surprising Hidden Gem
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

I played this game when it released in 2017 and absolutely loved it. One of the few games on my 100% list. It's not a game for everyone understandably but for those who can check it's boxes, I think you'll enjoy it.

The games concept is a bit odd but really cool at the same time. You basically play a turned based retro RPG and all of its interfaces are handled via old school style Windows 3.1 GUI interface themed windows. The main campaign of the game isn't very long and you can play it from beginning to end in a few hours. It in ways feels like a rogue-lite but I wouldn't really classify it as such. There is a fair amount of replayability since you can play through it again as a different class and have a very different experience.

If you enjoy retro games, RPGs and have some nostalgia for older operating systems, then I'd highly recommend it. If none of those things appeal to you, you might not enjoy it quite as much. For me, even at full price, the game is worth the money spent. If you catch it in any kind of sale and …

A little broken
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

The general gameplay loop is really fun but gets old fast even with the different things you can do to change up a run. Also the achievements on Steam were a little broken, first time I had to use the steam achievement manager to force an achievement to pop that I had already completed three times.

I love this game, such a great idea executed really, really well. The attention to detail is great (the little PC loading sounds when you open things, etc.) Great one to play a couple quick rounds of here and there.

I've done like 5 runs of this game and I still get my ass kicked at the first beacon 😭

RIP in peace
